Mr. Beane comes to WLMS after having served as assistant principal at West Lincoln High School since 2022. He was previously at North Lincoln High School. Jesse and wife Jennifer have 4 children and value their time together as a family.

Mrs. Smart is returning to WLMS as Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. She graduated from ASU in 1999 and taught elementary school in Kings Mountain for 10 years. She then moved to the Media Center at Kings Mountain Middle in 2010. She holds a Masters from ECU and GWU, as well as National Board Certification. She has 2 sons, Nathan and Adam.

Mrs. Gilbert comes to WLMS after having served as Assistant Principal at Union Elementary. She is a proud graduate of Lincoln County Schools and has been in education for over 17 years.  She earned a bachelor’s degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Elementary Education in 2005 and began teaching within the Hickory Public School system.  Before coming home to Lincoln County Schools in 2014, she completed a master's degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University.  While teaching at Norris S. Childers Elementary, she acquired a second Master's degree in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2020.

She and husband Jeremy have one daughter, Rachel,  and a Golden Retriever, Junior.  They enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outside as much as possible, and traveling any chance they get.
