The ELHS Wind Ensemble presented an incredible performance this past Thursday at their North Carolina Bandmasters South Central District Music Performance Adjudication, where they received the highest marks possible in Grade V literature.
Their program included:
US Field Artillery March - John Phillip Sousa
Riften Wed - Julie Giroux
J.S. Gig - Brant Karrick
To the Wind Ensemble Members - When words like "exquisite, beautiful, outstanding, mature, fantastic - WOW!" are reflected on all four judge sheets, you know you've done something quite special. Congratulations not only for presenting an "exquisite" performance, but for all the hours and hours of Passion, Respect, Intensity, Dedication and Emotion you put in beforehand to realize this achievement! That's what our PRIDE is all about! As two of the judges wrote in their comments - "BRAVO! Loved EVERY second of your performance!" "You should be very proud!"
A big shout out to Mr. Wallace (Director of Bands) and Mr. Nguyen (Student Teacher) for all their hard work to prepare this challenging program! It goes without saying that these results would not be possible without dedication to excellence at the highest level. Thank you! Thank you for teaching and inspiring your students to reach their full potential and not accepting anything less! We can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for the Spring Concert!
