Good Evening, Iron Station Family, I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. I want to bring you a few updates for this week and beyond. Some of our students will be participating in the Special Olympics tomorrow! We cannot wait to send them off in style! We wish every one of them good luck and hope they have an amazing time. On Tuesday., our fourth grade students will be traveling to Reed Gold Mine for a field trip. On Friday, our first grade students will travel to Zootastic Park. We hope they all have fun! Our Muffins with Mom event will take place on Thursday, May 1st. Please use the link included in our weekly email to RSVP. This is one of our favorite events, and we cannot wait to enjoy it with you. https://forms.gle/v2J3yMffVqm3W8dV8 Our next All Pro Dads Breakfast will be Friday, May 2nd at 7:30 AM. Friday is School Lunch Hero Day! The ladies that serve our students breakfast and lunch, each day, are the absolute best. We certainly are lucky to have them. Please encourage your children to give them an extra thank you on Friday! Over the last several weeks, we have had a lot of issues with students being tardy. Instructional time is so important, and we want to encourage our students to be at school and ready to learn each day. We have a limited number of days left this school year, and we want to make the most of each one. If students have more than two unexcused tardies between April 22nd and May 16th, they will not be eligible to participate in Field Day. We appreciate your attention to this matter and working with us as a team to value your child's learning. Thank you so much for being part of our Iron Station family. Have a wonderful evening.

All Pro Dads this Friday!
Good Evening Iron Station Family, I hope you all have enjoyed your weekend! I want to bring you a few updates for this week and beyond. Thank you to every one of our parent volunteers, who worked the Book Fair! We loved seeing you, but are so appreciative of all you do for our school. Also, thank you to everyone who shopped the book fair or sent money to not only encourage a love of reading in our students, but also to help support our school library. Our school will be administering the Measurable Results Assessment, a survey designed to provide insights into the progress of our school. A paper copy was sent home with your child last week. You may choose to fill out the paper copy OR you may complete the online survey. The online survey will open tomorrow, March 31st. You do not need to complete both. We simply wanted to provide the survey in two formats. You only need to complete the survey one time per household. https://www.leaderinme.com/s/iron-station-elementary/families Tomorrow, March 31st, April 1st and April 4th, our students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will be taking their NC Check-Ins. Please make sure students arrive to school no later than 7:55 AM. The district has created a Spirit Week in honor of Autism Awareness and we cannot wait to participate. On Monday, wear the rainbow to "Rock the Spectrum". For "Team up Tuesday", wear your favorite sports team gear. On Wednesday, Autism Awareness day, we encourage all students to wear blue. For "Passion Thursday", wear something that shows your favorite interests or hobbies. On "Sensory Friendly Friday," wear your softest and comfiest clothes. Please mark your calendar for April 4th, this will be our next All Pro Dads Breakfast. It will begin at 7:30 AM. The time has finally come—our talented students will be performing The Lion King on Saturday, April 5th at North Lincoln High School! There is a show at 3:30 PM and a show at 5:30 PM. Tickets are $5 and are available for pre-order or at the door. Students should have received a ticket order form from their teacher, which can be filled out and brought back to Ms. McGuire with money in order to reserve your seats for the performance. Don't miss the chance to see Simba, Nala, and all your favorite characters in this unforgettable show! If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. McGuire. We hope to see you there! Please mark your calendar for April 14th-April 21st. This will be our Spring Break and there will be no school for students. Thank you so much for being part of our Iron Station family. Have a wonderful evening.
